During the MVP Summit in March, I have been approached by Justin Angel, asking the question whether I would like to join the Silverlight MVP’s – this MVP expertise did not even exist at the time. If you read this blog or I have the privilege of having met you personally, you may know that my passion is 50% WPF, 50% Silverlight, and 150% user experience. So, I was a little bit afraid to leave WPF behind and focus more of my energies to Silverlight. But if you know Justin, his energy, and the fact that he is a big gun lover, it is no surprise that I was convinced that Silverlight is the place to be.
So, after fighting with the 7 headed dragon of bureaucracy for three months, this morning I found myself literally on the same page with Silverlight legends – many of them I met in person in March. Please let me mention my friend, Dave Campbell, who has helped me in getting the word of this blog and Zoomery out to many people with his wonderful Silverlight Cream blog.
Being a member of this very small group of extremely clever people, most of whom are much better known to the international Silverlight community than myself is a very humbling experience. Here is hoping that I can raise to the occasion and that I will be able to serve the Silverlight community and help the Silverlight team create an even better product!
Thank you all,
András Velvárt
